St Joseph’s Day
stjoessx August 10th
On Wednesday 16th March 2016, we celebrated St Joseph’s Day.
St Joseph is our Patron Saint. He was a simple carpenter with a lot of faith. God chose Joseph to be the Foster Father of His Son, the husband of Mary, and the head of the Holy Family because he was a holy man.
Never before have I been so delighted with the enthusiasm of the children, our staff and the wonderful efforts made by our parents to collaborate and create a day full of love and laughter for our students.
Special thanks to Mr Pedrin & Mr Black who joined us throughout the morning, to work with the students to build, restore and work with wood. Mr Pedrin built a magnificent cubby house and students blessed the cubby with their hand prints. Students also sanded the seat around the tree near the entrance to the school.
Parents and families celebrated the life of St Joseph with a Liturgy of the Word followed by a sausage sizzle. Our P & F parents lead the activities in the afternoon in which students worked together in multi aged teams to complete problem solving activities. Special thanks to Mrs Shipard for organising these activities.
